Sherwood Elementary School-wide Agreements
Mutual Respect
Treat every person, their time and their property with dignity and respect. Everyone must know that Sherwood is a safe and supportive place to be. We take care of our school, our playground, and the property of others |
Attentive Listening
Listening to others with eyes, ears and heart is important! This includes eye contact, silence, responding with nods, as well as comments or questions at the right time. |
Right to Pass
Each personI has the right to choose correct choices even if others don't. Sherwood students deal with disagreements or strong feelings through the use of the Debug system. The right to pass does not mean refusal to respond to adults or to participate in learning activities |
No Put Downs/ Show Appreciations
Any words or actions that hurt someone will not be allowed. Everyone will make and effort to thank and recognize others for their help, support, or acts of kindness. |
Always try.
The best way to learn something is to practice until you can do it. If you are unwilling to try, you cannot practice. When you first try something it is often difficult, but if you keep trying, it gets easier. |
Do Your Best.
When you do a job or assignment, do your very best. While you are working on something, ask yourself, " Is this the best I can do?" If you give a job your best, you learn and feel more responsible than if you just slide through the job. If you make mistakes, but did your best, your teachers can help you learn from your mistakes. |
