      Ms. Loera's 4th grade family!

I am a Houston Baptist University graduate, GO HUSKIES! My degree is in Elementary Education and Psychology. This is my second year at Sherwood elementary and I love it!  Being at Sherwood has been a huge blessing to me because of our wonderful staff and students. Teaching is my passion and I am so thankful that I have the privilege of teaching your children. I love them with all my heart and they have truly become my little family. You are always welcomed to come by and visit whenever you would like. If you ever need anything please let me know!


 

 Week of October 19-23

 Math: This week the students will be learning about probability and statistics. We will continue working on 2 digit X 1 digit multiplication facts so keep practicing!

Reading: What is the Author's purpose when they are writing? What do Authors want the readers to know? Main idea, important events, inferences,etc. Since this is the last week of the nine weeks period, we will be reviewing what we have learned so far. Make sure you read for atleast 20 minutes each night.

Writing: Continue learning about the 6 traits of writing. This week we will focus on Voice. Does your writing sound like you? Students will also be working on run-on sentences and conjunctions.

Science: Earths layers and Volcanoes. This Thursday we will have a CBQ (district quiz) Please make sure you continue studying about moon phases, clouds, weather maps and symbols.

Social Studies: Need to know and nice to know information about Texas.


  

 ~We will have early dismissal this Thursday and Friday

~Teacher/Parent Conferences are this Thursday and Friday. Can't wait to see you :)

~Sherwood Fall Carnival is this Friday from 4:00p.m.-7:00p.m. Tickets are a quarter each or you could get the wrist band for ONLY $10.00 and play all  of the games as many times as you would like.


  •  *Homework packets go home on Monday for the entire week. The homework packet consists of: 
  •      -Spelling (Every other week)
  •      -Math practice problems
  •      -Reading passages/read for 20 minutes
  •      -Science/Social Studies worksheets
